Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe at the Skills Alliance for Ukraine meeting in Kyiv, where they discussed Ukraine’s recovery through education and skills development with international partners.
On January 30, 2025, in Kyiv, the Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe team took part in the Second Coordination Meeting of the Skills Alliance for Ukraine, which brought together representatives of government agencies, international organizations, financial institutions, civil society and business to discuss their contribution to the recovery process in Ukraine.
🔹 The main goal of the Alliance is to support the Ukrainian government in the field of vocational education and training (VET), development of retraining and upskilling programs that will allow Ukrainians to actively participate in the process of rebuilding the country.
Our contribution to skills development for Ukraine’s recovery
As a humanitarian organization, Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe supports initiatives that promote the social integration of vulnerable groups, especially internally displaced persons, people with disabilities, women and youth. We recognize that along with urgent humanitarian needs, education, vocational training and employment opportunities are key to recovery.
🔹 Key issues discussed during the meeting:
✅ Identification of labor market needs in key sectors of the economy
Increasing the availability of training and retraining programs
✅ Expanding opportunities for vulnerable groups
✅ Challenges and prospects for mutual recognition of qualifications between Ukraine and the EU
During the event, it was emphasized that the Alliance members have already exceeded the initial goal of 180,000 trained professionals, reaching 190,205 people undergoing training in Ukraine and abroad.
