The programme team is continuing to implement the initiative to support entrepreneurship in Ukraine, moving on to the next stage following the completion of the assessment of participants’ applications.
During her visit to Ukraine, a representative of the European office of Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe met with the team and learned how humanitarian aid impacts the lives of people in local communities.
The initiative aimed at supporting communities and recovery is ongoing.
In late April 2026, the Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe team organised an event as part of the Help Localisation Programme (HLF), which brought together representatives of international and local organisations, donors and experts to discuss the practical and strategic aspects of developing the localisation of humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
As part of the implementation of the HLF localisation programme, support for local organisations in Ukraine continues: following the results of the second selection round, four projects have been identified to receive funding for the further implementation of their initiatives.
Last week, the Help team in Ukraine welcomed colleagues from head office to jointly evaluate the results of completed projects and outline the next steps in supporting the de-occupied communities of the Kherson region.
Last week, a working visit by partners took place in Chernihiv, during which the results of a project aimed at supporting children and creating a safe environment for their development were presented.
Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe is now accepting applications for microgrants from entrepreneurs who have suffered losses as a result of the war and are seeking to rebuild or stabilise their businesses.
Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe and the Poltava Regional Administration have reached preliminary agreements on further cooperation and the joint implementation of initiatives aimed at supporting local communities and enhancing their resilience in the context of the war.
