Parliamentary and municipal forum “Housing for Internally Displaced Persons”

Last week, Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe in Ukraine participated in a three-day parliamentary and municipal forum on “Housing for internally displaced persons.”

The event was organized by the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the Protection of the Rights of Internally Displaced Persons and Other Victims of the Armed Aggression of the Russian Federation, with the support of the USAID program.

The forum discussed ensuring access to housing for displaced persons, updating legislation, and financial and credit mechanisms for realizing their right to housing. Participants also visited displaced families in temporary housing in Perechyn, Simer, and Uzhhorod.

Representatives of Help in Ukraine shared their experience in developing projects to provide housing for displaced persons. Together with other forum participants, they formulated the necessary conclusions and recommendations to solve the problem.
