Oleksandr Novykov, director of the humanitarian organisation Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe in Ukraine, recently shared his vision for the future of international support for Ukraine in an interview with HMH.News.

In the conversation, he talked about how German aid might change in 2026, what donors will focus on, and why it is important for Ukrainian organisations to be not only recipients but also equal partners in cooperation.

‘Germany remains a partner and will continue to support Ukraine through humanitarian and localisation programmes, provided that funds are used transparently and local capacities are strengthened,’ emphasised Oleksandr Novykov.
