Project name: SAFE – Support and Accessibility For Everyone

Project duration (months): 12 

Focus: HLF Programmatic funding will be used for the SAFE project to improve well-being, inclusion, and protection for people with disabilities, including IDPs, and their families across Kyiv, Lviv, Poltava, and Sumy regions, by enhancing accessibility of social infrastructure, providing cash and hygiene support, delivering psychosocial and vocational training services, offering respite care, and establishing inclusive workshops and training opportunities.

Project name: Solar Resilience for Water and Care

Project duration (months): 12

Focus: HLF Programmatic funding will strengthen the resilience of eight facilities: four municipal water utilities and four long-term care/medical boarding institutions by installing solar energy systems and building local capacity. Through site assessments, feasibility studies, and complete construction and commissioning, the project will ensure uninterrupted access to safe water, energy, and essential medical and care services during power outages or crises.

Project name: Safety, support, and protection of people in need in Volyn, Kirovohrad and Rivne regions

Project duration (months): 12

Focus: HLF Programmatic funding will be used to strengthen the resilience and well-being of vulnerable populations, including IDPs and host communities, in Rivne, Volyn, and Kirovohrad regions by providing social, legal, and material support through mobile consultations, legal aid, restoration of documents, and distribution of food, hygiene products, medicine and improving equitable access to essential services and protection.

HLF Partner Name: Charitable organisation “Frieda Charitable Foundation”

Project name: Provision of comprehensive healthcare services and psychological support for civilians and healthcare workers in war-affected oblasts of Kharkiv and Chernihiv

Project duration (months): 12

Focus: HLF Programmatic funding will be used to strengthen healthcare access and support in Kharkiv and Chernihiv oblasts by providing primary and secondary medical services to vulnerable populations and mental health support to local healthcare workers. Two Mobile Medical Teams (MMTs) will deliver daily primary care including consultations, examinations, treatment recommendations, and essential medicines; while missions staffed with specialised doctors will address secondary and specialised healthcare needs identified by the MMTs. For healthcare workers, the project will conduct needs assessments, provide individual online psychological consultations, and organise recovery and resilience-building events. These interventions target doctors, nurses, and other medical staff exposed to high stress in the war context.

Project name: Safe Horizons: From Online Access to Comprehensive Protection and Humanitarian Support for Vulnerable Women in War-Affected Ukraine

Project duration (months): 12

Focus: HLF Programmatic funding will be used to support conflict-affected women in Ukraine, including GBV survivors, IDPs, and women with disabilities, by providing psychosocial, protection, health, and livelihood assistance through safe spaces, online services, mobile outreach, and multipurpose vouchers. Activities include counselling, case management, awareness-raising, vocational training, and targeted support to meet immediate needs. The project emphasizes coordination, accountability, and feedback mechanisms to ensure effective, dignified, and responsive assistance while strengthening resilience at individual and community level.

HLF Partner Name: Charitable organisation “Charitable Foundation “New Dawn”

Project name: Winterisation, Health Access and Dignified Accommodation for IDPs in Odesa and Kherson regions 

Project duration (months): 12

Focus: HLF Programmatic funding will be used to improve the protection and resilience of IDPs and conflict-affected populations in Odesa and Kherson oblasts through safe accommodation, winterisation assistance, and better access to essential health services. It includes the rehabilitation of collective centres to meet safe and dignified living standards, provision of NFIs, children’s winter clothing, and cash for heating, as well as the installation of modular medical points and voucher support for essential medicines. By restoring habitable shelter conditions, improving energy resilience, and reestablishing access to primary healthcare, the project aims to support vulnerable groups, especially women, children, older people, people with disabilities, and those with chronic illnesses, meet their basic winter and health needs.

Project name: PowerSchool: Ensuring Energy Resilience for Educational Institutions in Ukraine for Continuous and Safe Learning

Project duration (months): 8

Focus: HLF Programmatic funding will be used to strengthen energy resilience and psychosocial well-being in schools in war-affected areas of right-bank Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. It targets five schools, ensuring they can operate during power outages, and will foster a supportive environment for students and staff. Key activities include installing battery systems for uninterrupted power, delivering a “Power Literacy” course for staff and communities, and providing psychosocial support for teachers through training, individual consultations, and practical “Resilience Cards.” The project interventions aim to enhance school energy self-reliance, teachers’ coping skills, and overall learning conditions.

    Project name: Rapid Response Group

    Project duration (months): 12

    Focus: HLF Programmatic funding will be used for rapid emergency response and risk mitigation in Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions, addressing the impact of attacks on civilian infrastructure. The project will support the Rapid Response Group in providing emergency shelter repairs, distributing emergency kits, offering psychological support, and coordinating multisectoral assistance. Additionally, blast-resistant films will be installed in health facilities to protect bedridden patients from injury during shelling.

    Project name: Inclusive Center for Mental Health, Safety, and Social Support

    Project duration (months): 8

    Focus: HLF Programmatic funding will be used to supports people affected by the war in Vinnytsia and Sumy by improving access to protection, psychosocial, social, and legal services. The project operates through stationary hubs and mobile teams that provide consultations, distribute dignity kits, and run support sessions for adults and children. Partnerships with local libraries build community capacity on protection and inclusion, while workshops and peer groups promote resilience and social connection. The combined approach strengthens wellbeing, self-reliance, and community cohesion.

    HLF Partner Name:  Charitable Organisation “FREE ZONE”

    Project name: Right to Dignity: Humanitarian Support for Prisoners, Formerly Incarcerated Individuals, and Other Vulnerable Groups  

    Project duration (months): 8

    Focus: HLF Programmatic funding will be used for the social integration and protection of individuals in and leaving penal institutions in Ukraine by combining humanitarian aid with legal, social, and psychosocial assistance. Key activities include issuing passports to restore access to services, providing pre- and post-release support for reintegration, and distributing hygiene and essential items to women, children, and patients in psychiatric institutions. The project also creates safe environments for children under three in women’s facilities, improves living conditions in psychiatric institutions, and ensures systematic support for released individuals, including housing, medical care, and guidance on social services.

    Project name: From Loss to Resilience

    Project duration (months): 8

    Focus: HLF Programmatic funding will be used to strengthen the resilience and protection of populations in frontline areas of Ukraine, with a focus on people with recently acquired disabilities. It provides holistic, person-centered support across Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Poltava regions through multi-sectoral humanitarian assistance. Key interventions include case management, rehabilitation and medical support, legal and psychological assistance, and tailored consultancy for people with disabilities. The project also ensures accessible safe temporary accommodation in five shelters, improves seasonal resilience through NFI kits, and provides cash assistance to vulnerable individuals.

    Project name: Restoring access to life: comprehensive support for evacuees and victims

    Project duration (months): 8

    Focus: HLF Programmatic funding will be used to provide medical, rehabilitation, and hygiene support to vulnerable and displaced populations, including the elderly, people with disabilities, IDPs, and newly evacuated individuals in Kharkiv region. Key activities include medical vouchers for essential medicines, provision of rehabilitation equipment, and distribution of gender-sensitive hygiene kits.

    HLF Partner Name:  Charitable Foundation “Zhovto-Blakytni Kryla”

    Project name: On the wings of childhood – into a safe future. Strengthening safe centers for children with disabilities, helping families with children overcome loss.  

    Project duration (months): 8

    Focus: HLF Programmatic funding will be used to supports children, youth, and families in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions, focusing on vulnerable groups including children with disabilities, IDPs, and at-risk households. It aims to strengthen wellbeing, resilience, skills, and community participation. It provides access to inclusive support centers offering MHPSS, life skills, and counseling for children with disabilities, along with training for parents. Winterization kits and autonomous energy and water solutions help reduce seasonal vulnerability for households. Youth receive training in project management and social cohesion initiatives, alongside practical career guidance workshops.

    Partner Name: NGO Avalist

    Project Name: „Rapid Humanitarian Response: Comprehensive Emergency Assistance to Affected and Vulnerable Communities in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk Regions“ 

    Project Duration: 01.11.2024 – 31.03.2025 

    The project reached a total of 39,195 people. 

    The project aimed at providing rapid, life-saving humanitarian assistance to communities severely affected by the war. 

    Its main objectives were:  

    • To provide access to clean drinking water. 
    • To distribute hygiene kits to prevent diseases and to support displaced families. 
    • To provide materials for rapid repairs of damaged homes and infrastructure. 
    • To provide financial assistance to vulnerable elderly people. 

    These efforts were targeted at internally displaced persons (IDPs), families with children, people with disabilities and the elderly, especially in frontline and hard-to-reach areas. 

    Partner Name: NGO Safe Sky 

    Project Name: „Safety for home front heroes“ 

    Project Duration: 01.11.2024 – 31.03.2025 

    The project reached a total of 560 people. 

    The project aimed at improving the safety and survival skills of utility workers working in frontline areas and high-risk zones in Kharkiv Oblast. 

    Its main objectives were:  

    • To reduce mortality and injuries by providing specialised first aid and mine safety training and distribute individual first aid kits to utility workers. 

    The utility workers often work in hazardous environments – rebuilding infrastructure, clearing rubble and supporting communities under constant threat – so such training is vital to save lives and maintain vital services.
