Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e.V. is a non-profit, independent organisation that was founded during the war in Afghanistan in 1981 and is now active worldwide. With an annual project volume of more than 60 million euros, Help provides emergency aid in the event of disasters and sustainable reconstruction for and with people in need, primarily in Africa, Asia and Europe.

As a globally operating humanitarian aid organisation, Help receives high recognition through funding from national and international donors and is committed to national and international humanitarian aid standards as well as the transparent use of funds and impact monitoring.

To support our team we are looking for a:

Project Management & Coordination [HLF project management]

The Help Localization Facility (“HLF”) is a global programme aiming to develop, provide and manage an innovative financing instrument that will provide local organizations long-term access to high-quality, flexible financing for their humanitarian project work. Additionally, our organization will provide tailor-made support and capacity-building to the implementing partner organizations. The position holder is responsible for the technical, content-related, qualitative and strategic management of the funded, locally implemented projects within the global programme in cooperation with the Programme Management & Coordination and regional and local offices and colleagues.

The area of responsibility:

  • Enable local implementation partners to prepare project concepts and proposals
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting effective communication and knowledge sharing among programme staff.
  • Monitor project progress and impact, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to donors in collaboration with Programme  Management & Cooordination.  
  •  Oversee project development, including comprehensive budget planning, to achieve project goals, adjusting budgets as necessary.
  • Support the technical and strategic management of assigned projects ensuring alignment with program objectives
  • Ensure compliance with external and internal guidelines, standards and technical requirements, for all supervised projects. 
  • Manage assessments with potential project partners in coordination with Programme  Management & Controlling.  
  • Support the selection, assessment, capacity building and management of local partners.
  • Participate in business trips including controlling and training visits to supported projects and programme countries.
  • Provide support for tasks and activities beyond the HLF framework, as needed, to meet broader organizational requirements.

Convince us with:

  • A degree in social sciences or another field related humanitarian aid and development cooperation.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a development cooperation organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and interest in localization topic within the humanitarian aid context.
  • Experience working with national and international donors such as GFFO, BMZ, ECHO, EU, UN etc.
  • Proven experience in developing, planning and implementing projects and programmes with confidence in writing project proposals and reports.
  • Ability to apply theoretical knowledge of national and international standards and principles in day-to-day project management.
  • Fluency in English (written and oral) and Ukranian
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Structured, careful, and methodical work approach.
  • Willingness and availability to travel regularly
