Working visit of Help representatives to Ukraine: Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava

A delegation from the headquarters of the international humanitarian organisation Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe visited Ukraine

On 10-14 December, a delegation from the head office of the international humanitarian organisation Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe, headed by Secretary General Torsten Klose-Suber and Head of Communications and Marketing Stefan Brand, visited Ukraine. As part of the working visit, our colleagues visited Kyiv, Kharkiv and Poltava to talk to their Ukrainian counterparts, see and assess the implementation of humanitarian projects.

In Poltava, Help representatives visited the city administration to discuss the implementation of humanitarian initiatives in the region. The delegation also got acquainted with the results of the projects, including the replacement of windows in two dormitories, the Kazka kindergarten and a vocational school that were affected by rocket attacks.

In Kharkiv, the delegation visited the Help office and met with the team. Productive discussions were also held with representatives of the Kharkiv Regional Administration, Kharkiv communities and project partners. The delegation also visited the Humanitarian Coordination Centre to discuss the results of cooperation and new approaches to supporting communities most affected by the war.

In Kyiv, Help representatives met with Svenja Schulze, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, and met with Matteo Schmale, UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine. In addition, they met with the Help team in Ukraine.

This trip was an important step in strengthening the partnership and developing new initiatives. It showed that support for Ukrainian communities continues, although there are still many humanitarian challenges. We are sincerely grateful to our German partners for their assistance, which is invaluable in improving the lives of the affected people.
