A working meeting was held with the leadership of the Kherson City Administration, during which the results of cooperation for 2025 were summarised and further areas of cooperation were identified. Last year, the organisation provided large-scale humanitarian support to municipal services, medical and social institutions in the city, as well as vulnerable groups of the population.
At the beginning of 2026, the selection process for potential partner organisations under the Second Call of the Help Localisation Facility (HLF) was successfully completed.
Localization, partnership, and practical solutions for Ukraine’s recovery became key topics of international dialogue, which Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe joined during the Annual Conference of the German Platform for Ukraine’s Recovery in Germany.
HLF has embarked on a new phase of localization in Ukraine—the first Kick-off workshop was held in Kyiv, bringing together 14 partner organizations and nearly 60 participants. Two days of lively interaction, learning, and collaboration building were an important step in the development of the Ukrainian humanitarian partnerships network.
Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe continues to participate in key professional platforms that shape approaches to humanitarian response in Ukraine. Participation in the BRIDGE 2025 Forum provided an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with partners, exchange experiences, and discuss the current challenges faced by communities in frontline regions.
An important working meeting was held in Kyiv between our organization, a delegation from Bonn, Germany, and representatives of the Kherson authorities, during which the parties summarized the results of cooperation within the Bonn Hilft Cherson partnership project and outlined further steps to support the region’s medical system.
On November 5, representatives of Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe took part in WINPACCS Customer Day 2025 in Wetzlar, where the deputy head of the representative office in Ukraine, Kostyantyn Nenakhov, presented the organization’s practical experience in project control and financial management during the war.
Our organization continues to strengthen cooperation with regions of Ukraine: over the course of two weeks, the Help team held a series of meetings in Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions to identify the most pressing needs of communities and strengthen support in the context of war.
Local initiatives, real solutions, and community development — this is what the Help! Localisation Programme focuses on.
We have completed our first open grant competition and already have 14 projects that will receive support to implement important changes in their regions.
