Localization, partnership, and practical solutions for Ukraine’s recovery became key topics of international dialogue, which Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe joined during the Annual Conference of the German Platform for Ukraine’s Recovery in Germany.
HLF has embarked on a new phase of localization in Ukraine—the first Kick-off workshop was held in Kyiv, bringing together 14 partner organizations and nearly 60 participants. Two days of lively interaction, learning, and collaboration building were an important step in the development of the Ukrainian humanitarian partnerships network.
Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe continues to participate in key professional platforms that shape approaches to humanitarian response in Ukraine. Participation in the BRIDGE 2025 Forum provided an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with partners, exchange experiences, and discuss the current challenges faced by communities in frontline regions.
An important working meeting was held in Kyiv between our organization, a delegation from Bonn, Germany, and representatives of the Kherson authorities, during which the parties summarized the results of cooperation within the Bonn Hilft Cherson partnership project and outlined further steps to support the region’s medical system.
On November 5, representatives of Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe took part in WINPACCS Customer Day 2025 in Wetzlar, where the deputy head of the representative office in Ukraine, Kostyantyn Nenakhov, presented the organization’s practical experience in project control and financial management during the war.
Our organization continues to strengthen cooperation with regions of Ukraine: over the course of two weeks, the Help team held a series of meetings in Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions to identify the most pressing needs of communities and strengthen support in the context of war.

We have completed our first open grant competition and already have 14 projects that will receive support to implement important changes in their regions.
Representatives from the Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe headquarters made a working trip to Ukraine to discuss further programme development, meet with partners and assess the effectiveness of the team’s work in wartime conditions.
The organisation Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe continues to support the development of small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine. Participants in the 7th coordination meeting of the SME Resilience Alliance discussed ways to align international assistance to entrepreneurs with the national SME development strategy for 2024–2027.
