The Bonn City Council confirmed its intention to support the Ukrainian city of Kherson as a twin town.
On March 24, the city’s deputy mayor spoke about the region’s difficult humanitarian situation. The Supervisory Board of the Help organization helped to make a decision to use 100,000 euros from its own funds for the facilitation process of building a partnership between the cities of Bonn and Kherson.
“Together, with the support of the citizens of Bonn, we can help the people in Kherson in need. With repairs especially of damaged municipal institutions such as hospitals, schools and kindergartens, we can support the reconstruction,” says Dr. Thorsten Klose-Zuber, Secretary General of Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe.
