Working together towards big changes: the HLF successfully concludes its collaboration with six partner organisations

The conclusion of a collaboration that ran from November 2025 to July 2026. The projects each had their own unique focus, but were united by a common goal — to strengthen the resilience of communities and provide timely humanitarian, psychological and social support.

Throughout the implementation of the Help Localisation Facility (HLF), we had the honour of working side by side with six Ukrainian civil society and charitable organisations. Together, we implemented important initiatives across different parts of Ukraine — supporting schools and shelters, helping the most vulnerable groups, and strengthening the capacity of local organisations.

The collaboration ran from November 2025 to July 2026, and during this time our partners succeeded in turning the support they received into tangible changes for people and communities. Each project had its own unique focus, but they were all united by a common goal — to strengthen community resilience and provide timely humanitarian, psychological and social support.

What results did our partners achieve?

  • The NGO ‘Spring of Hope. Ukraine’ improved access to protection and psychosocial support services in the Vinnytsia and Sumy regions. Thanks to fixed centres and mobile teams, as well as collaboration with local libraries, it was possible to strengthen the resilience and cohesion of communities.
  • The ‘Yellow Blue Wings’ charitable foundation focused on supporting children with disabilities, young people and families in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. The project ensured the operation of inclusive centres (MHPSS), winter preparedness through kits for keeping warm and alternative energy sources, as well as training for young people.
  • The NGO ‘Smart Osvita’ implemented a project to ensure the energy resilience of educational institutions on the right bank of the Dnipropetrovsk region. The installation of battery systems enabled schools to continue operating during power cuts, whilst teachers received the necessary psychosocial support.
  • The NGO ‘Common Cause for People’ provided critically important medical, rehabilitation and hygiene assistance to evacuees and vulnerable groups in the Kharkiv region, supplying people with medical vouchers, wheelchairs, crutches and specialised kits.
  • The NGO ‘Fight For Right‘ rolled out comprehensive support for people with disabilities (particularly those who had recently been granted disability status) in frontline areas of the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Poltava regions, providing legal support, financial assistance and safe temporary accommodation.
  • The charitable organisation ‘FREE ZONE’ worked on social integration and humanitarian aid for prisoners and formerly imprisoned individuals. The project assisted with the restoration of documents, medical support and the creation of safe conditions for children under the age of three in women’s prisons.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to every team for their professionalism, dedication and tireless work. This phase of the partnership has officially come to an end, but the positive impact of your projects on people’s lives continues.

The projects were implemented with financial support from the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO) and coordinated by Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe as part of the Help Localisation Facility.
